Civil Litigation Attorney (5+ Years) - Kansas City, MO

Our client, a well-established and growing regional law firm, is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join its Kansas City office on a direct-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated litigator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to take on a meaningful role handling complex matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse litigation caseload with a high degree of autonomy
  • Handle all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
  • Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and experts
  • Draft and argue substantive motions, including dispositive motions
  • Prepare pleadings, discovery responses, and other case-related filings
  • Appear regularly in state and federal courts
  • Maintain direct communication with clients and provide strategic case updates

Qualifications

  • Active licensure in both Missouri and Kansas (required)
  • 5+ years of civil litigation experience in a law firm setting
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage cases from inception through resolution
  • Strong deposition and courtroom experience
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Highly organized with strong communication and time management abilities
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of matters
